The Rwanda Law Nº 058/2021 of 13/10/2021 relating to the Protection of Personal Data And Privacy (DPL) was operationalized on 15 October, 2023. The Law is in line with into Article 23 of the Constitution of Rwanda which grants every person the right to privacy, and - of relevance to data protection - , provides for the right not to have one's information relating to family or private affairs unnecessarily revealed and the privacy of communications.
